The Halifax City SC “AA” Programs are part of the club’s performance pathway, designed for players with strong technical ability, commitment, and passion for competitive soccer. These programs prepare athletes for higher levels of competition, including the “AAA” stream, provincial programs, and beyond.
Players in the AA program compete in the Nova Scotia Soccer League (NSSL) AA Division, representing Halifax City SC against other top regional clubs.
Age Groups:
U12: Born in 2014
U13: Born in 2013 (*Girls are both 2013 & 2014 unless Club staff determine their is enough depth for both U12 and U13 programs)
U15: Born in 2011-2012
U18: Born in 2008-2010
Parent/Guardian Role: Support players’ commitment to training, travel, and matches at a higher level of competition.
Duration: 18 weeks total
Cost Options:
$725 (Additional $105 Fee if a uniform is required)
*Returning players are expected to use their uniform from the previous season unless damaged or outgrown

U13 Boys: Tuesdays (Lemarchant) @ 6:00pm, Wednesdays (BMO) @ 7:00 pm Match Day = Sundays
U15 Boys: Sundays (BMO) @ 7:00 pm, Thursdays (Lemerchant) @ 8:00 pm Match Day = Saturdays
U18 Boys: Wednesdays (BMO)@ 8:00 pm, Monday (Gorsebrook) @ 9:00 pm Match Day = Saturdays
U13 Girls: Wednesdays (BMO) @ 5:00 pm, Thursdays (Lemerchant) @ 6:00 pm Match Day = Sundays
U15 Girls: Mondays (BMO) @ 7:00 pm, Thursdays (Lemerchant) @ 9:00 pm Match Day = Saturdays
All AA teams are led by coaches with advanced qualifications through Canada Soccer and Soccer Nova Scotia licensing pathways. Requirements include:
Respect in Sport certification
Ethical decision-making training
Valid police checks
Advanced age-specific licensing (e.g., C-License, Soccer for Life, etc)
This ensures players are in a high-quality, developmentally appropriate, and competitive training environment.
High-Level Competition: regular matches in the NSSL AA Division
Advanced Technical Training: improving speed, control, passing, finishing, and first touch under pressure
Tactical Development: learning team systems, positional play, and game strategies
Player Growth: fostering resilience, leadership, and responsibility
Pathway Preparation: providing a clear step toward AAA and provincial/national opportunities
The program uses the Spond App to manage schedules, notifications, and updates. Families will receive a unique link to join prior to the start of the season.
Before the season begins, parents/guardians will receive an online presentation introducing:
Club values and performance pathway
Expectations for players and parents in the AA environment
Safe sport guidelines and requirements
Club code of conduct
AA Programs require a higher level of commitment than A or B programs (attendance at training and matches is expected).
Teams play in the Nova Scotia Soccer League AA Division, part of the competitive pathway.
Strong parent support is essential for travel, player well-being, and maintaining a positive competitive environment.
