Senior Performance Programs (AAA)


Program Overview

The Halifax City SC Senior Performance (AAA) Programs represent the highest competitive level of senior soccer within the club and the Nova Scotia Soccer League (NSSL).

These programs are designed for dedicated and experienced players who want to compete at a high standard of play while representing Halifax City SC. Senior Performance teams train and compete at a high level, with a strong focus on maintaining fitness, tactical discipline, and technical quality.

Players in the Senior Performance program compete in the NSSL Senior AAA Division and may progress to opportunities in university/college competition, or professional environments.

Teams Offered:

  • Senior Men’s AAA

  • Senior Women’s AAA

Parent/Guardian Role: Not applicable — this is an adult competitive program.

Season Length: Typically runs November-March, aligned with the provincial and regional competition calendar.

Player Fees:

  • $425

*Please note that Match Uniforms are only loaned out to the players for the duration of the season in all of our Senior Programs


Training & Match Commitments

  • 1-2 training sessions per week

  • Regular league matches 

    • Senior Men: Wednesdays (BMO) @ 8:00 pm, Saturdays (SHSH) @ 5:00pm Match Day = Sundays

    • Senior Women: Wednesdays (BMO) @ 8:00 pm, Sundays (SHSH) @ 5:00pm Match Day = Saturdays


Coaching Standards

Senior Performance teams are led by coaches with advanced qualifications through the Canada Soccer licensing pathway. Requirements include:

  • Minimum CONCACAF B Diploma or working towards

  • Respect in Sport certification

  • Ethical decision-making training

  • Valid police checks

This ensures players train and compete in a professional, structured, and high-performance environment.


Program Focus

  • Elite Competition: playing in the NSSL Senior AAA Division

  • High-Level Training: tactical periodization, advanced fitness, and technical refinement

  • Player Development: pathway to AUS/USPORTS, ACAA/Collegiate and professional opportunities

  • Club Representation: senior players serve as leaders and role models for younger athletes in the Halifax City SC pathway


Communication & Scheduling

The program uses the Spond App and team channels for communication, schedules, and match coordination. Players will be invited to join team groups after roster selection.

  • Represent the club positively on and off the field
