The Halifax City SC Performance Programs represent the highest level of youth soccer within the club and are the first step to the reintegration of Performance Programs at Halifax City SC.
These programs are designed for players who demonstrate advanced technical ability, tactical awareness, athleticism, and strong commitment to training and competition. The Performance stream prepares athletes for provincial, national, and post-secondary opportunities.
Players in the Performance program compete in the Nova Scotia Soccer League (NSSL) Performance Division and may be identified for Provincial Team, Excel Programs and beyond.
Age Groups:
U14: Born is 2012
Parent/Guardian Role: Support players’ commitment to a performance environment that requires discipline, attendance, and travel.
Duration: 18 weeks total

$800 (Additional $105 Fee if a uniform is required)
*Returning players are expected to use their uniform from the previous season unless damaged or outgrown

Location: BMO Soccer Centre, Sacred Heart School of Halifax, HRM Gyms
Tentative Schedule:
U14 Boys: Sundays (BMO) @ 7:00 pm, Thursdays (Lemerchant) @ 7:00 pm Match Day = Saturdays
(Performance programs also include multiple weekly training sessions and competitive matches in the appropriate NSSL division as determined by the Head of Player Development)
Performance teams are led by coaches with the highest qualifications within the Canada Soccer licensing pathway. Requirements include:
Respect in Sport certification
Ethical decision-making training
Valid police checks
Advanced age-specific licensing (CONCACAF C License and above)
High-performance experience and ongoing coach development
This ensures players train in a structured, challenging, and supportive environment.
High level and Appropriate Competition: competitive matches in the appropriate NSSL division as determined by the Head of Player Development in Nova Scotia
Advanced Technical & Tactical Training: mastering technical skills under pressure and learning advanced tactical systems
Performance Environment: strength and conditioning, game analysis, and player evaluations
Player Development Pathway: preparation for Provincial, National, University/College, and Professional opportunities
Leadership & Character: building resilience, discipline, teamwork, and accountability
The program uses the Spond App to manage schedules, notifications, and updates. Families will receive a unique link to join prior to the start of the season.
Before the season begins, parents/guardians will receive an online presentation introducing:

Expectations for players and parents in the Performance environment
Safe sport guidelines and requirements
Club code of conduct
Performance Programs require the highest level of player commitment in training, matches, and off-field preparation.
Teams compete in the Nova Scotia Soccer League, representing Halifax City SC at a top competitive level.
Parent support is essential for travel, nutrition, rest, and ensuring players succeed in a Performance environment.
